Golf is a highly intense, strategic game that requires refined skill, consistency, dedication, and drive (pun intended!). To earn college golf scholarships, players need to exhibit exceptional performance on the fairways, greens, and classroom. Being awarded a college golf scholarship not only allows you to continue honing your skills as an athlete, but it also enables many students from all walks of life to fund a college education. A full scholarship may be valued at as much as $500,000. Understandably, competition is fierce.

Division I
4.5 full scholarships available for men (can be divided partially)
6.0 full scholarships available for women (headcount only)
Currently, sponsor 294 male and 238 female golf programs
Division II
3.6 full scholarships available for men (can be divided partially)
5.4 full scholarships available for women
Currently, sponsor 200 male and 135 female golf programs
Division III
No financial aid allocated to athletes
Currently, sponsor 277 male and 166 female golf programs
NAIA
Students do require an SAT or ACT score to be admitted

NJCAA
Athletes at NJCAA institutions predominately compete for two years while completing their academic requirements
After completion of an Associate Degree, athletes can transfer to an NCAA Division if they have successfully completed all the academic requirements

Students do not require an SAT or ACT score to be admitted
Golf is considered an “equivalency” sport. That is, scholarships may be split. For example, there are 4.5 full Division I college golf scholarships available for men and 6.0 available for women. These can be divided to attract more high-level student-athletes to the program. Even partial scholarships have values of tens of thousands of dollars and can help significantly in funding a college education.
