Am I Fast Enough? Strong Enough? Strategic Enough?
No matter what your event, track and field requires stamina, strength, and strategy. Do you have what it takes? College track and field recruiting standards vary by college, but you can expect that they will set a high bar for performance. The University of Michigan, for example, wants to see a 100 meter time of 10.30 for a full ride or 10.50 for a partial scholarship, a pole volt of 17 feet or 16.4 feet for full or partial respectively, and a javelin throw of 230 feet or 210 feet for full or partial respectively.
