No Day at the Beach
Competitive court volleyball is fast-paced and highly competitive. When it comes to college volleyball scholarships for high school students, there are often more opportunities for women than for men. This is because women’s collegiate volleyball is well-established; the NCAA, for example, sponsors over 300 Division I programs compared to about 20 for men. A DI school will also offer nearly three times as many scholarships for women: 12.0 full scholarships versus 4.5.
This does not mean that it is easy for women athletes to secure volleyball scholarships. It may be, perhaps, a bit easier.
